PaintScout Integration

Learn how to connect your PaintScout account to sync quotes, invoices, and contacts.

Connect your PaintScout account to Workglue to automatically sync estimates, invoices, and contacts. When PaintScout estimates are sent to Workglue, the data received includes a PDF file of the quote received by the customer, a PDF of the Work Order, and media attached to the line items. 

How to connect your PaintScout account to Workglue

Set up Steps to Complete in Workglue

  1. Navigate to your Integration settings, found on the My Account page.
  2. Scroll to the PaintScout integration section.
  3. Select Connect Paintscout.
  4. Log in to your PaintScout account.
  5. After logging in, the settings page in Workglue will reload. Scroll back to the PaintScout settings.
  6. Next to the Quote, Work Order, and Line Item Attachment Categories, select which file folders to organize the PDF's received from PaintScout.

The PDF of the quote received from PaintScout will contain financial information. Use restricted folders to hide these PDFs.

Get your Workglue API Key
  1. At the bottom of the Integrations settings, on the My Account page, find the Workglue Account API Key section.
  2. If the key has not been created, select Generate API KEY, then Copy Key.
  3. If the key has been created, select Copy Key.

If you reset your API key, it will need to be updated in all integrations that use it.

Set up Steps to Complete in PaintScout

  1. In PaintScout, select Account Settings in the menu drop-down.
  2. Go to Integrations and navigate to the Workglue V2 settings.
  3. Paste the API key from Workglue into the API Key field.
  4. Save.

After your Workglue account is connected to PaintScout, you will need to configure the settings before utilizing the integration.

Your Cost Codes in Workglue must be set up or imported from QuickBooks Online before continuing.

Select Edit Cost Codes to link your PaintScout Quote types to a Workglue labor cost code.

Select Edit Materials to link your products in PaintScout to a material cost code in Workglue.

How to Use the PaintScout Integration

After your integration is configured, you can start sending information from Workglue to Paintscout! 

  1. Find the Original Estimate on an Opportunities Overview tab.

  2. Click Create Original Estimate.
  3. Click Create Quote in PaintScout.
  4. After your customer has accepted the quote in PaintScout, use the drop-down menu next to the save button to select Send to Workglue V2.
  5. Reload your Opportunity in Workglue. The line items should be in the Original Quote section with the PDF's of the estimate and work order in the Files tab.
