Message Center
Learn how to send and receive messages between users in your Workglue account.
The Message Center has three tabs: Internal Messages for conversations tied to a specific job, Messages for conversations sent to specific recipients, the whole company, or a broadcast to the field, and Archived for messages you've archived.
Accessing the Message Center
-
Select the chat icon in the top right of Workglue, next to the +Add button, or select Messages in the side menu.
Both show an unread count when you have new messages waiting. Inside the Message Center, the Messages tab also shows its own unread count.
Internal Messages
Internal Messages are conversations attached to a specific opportunity or job. They're grouped in the list by job name, and each thread shows an unread count badge on the right.
The Internal Messages tab only displays jobs that have at least one thread you're tagged in. If a job has threads but you aren't a participant in any of them, that job won't appear in your list.
Field Messages do not appear here because they aren't tagged to specific users.
Starting a new Internal Message
-
Select New Message in the top right, or New Message next to a specific job's name in the list.
-
If starting from the top right button, select the Job this message belongs to.
-
Choose one of the options:
-
Create Job Thread. Posts to the job's Field Messages tab as a job-wide note. Anyone in the organization with access to the job can read it. There is no recipient list.
- Select users for a regular thread. Creates a private conversation between you and the users you choose.
-
Once a thread or note is created, its type is locked. A Field Message note cannot be converted to a regular thread and vice versa.
A regular thread started from this tab is the same thread that appears under the job's Internal Messages tab. Anything posted in one place shows up in the other.
Messages
Messages are conversations sent to specific recipients, to the whole company, or as a broadcast to all users.
Starting a new Message
-
Select New Message in the top right.
-
Search for or select one or more users from the list, or select Select All to include everyone.
-
Select Next.
-
Choose who can see the message under Send as:
- Me. Private, visible only to you and the users you select.
- Company. Shared, so admins can also see and interact in the thread. Threads sent this way show a Company tag in the list.
- Broadcast. A read-only thread to the recipients you selected. If a recipient replies, the reply is sent privately to you, the sending admin.
- Type your message and select Send Message.
Reading and replying to a thread
Select any thread in the list to open the conversation in the panel on the right. Type your reply in the message field at the bottom and send. The unread count badge on a thread is per-thread, so opening the thread clears the badge for that conversation.
Searching Messages
Use the Search Messages... field at the top of the list to filter threads. The search works within the tab you're currently viewing.
Archived Messages
Select the Archived tab to view messages you've archived.
Archived messages cannot be unarchived.
