Custom Fields
Learn how to create custom fields in Workglue to capture additional information on Customer Accounts, Contacts, Jobs, and Employee records.
Custom Fields let you add extra fields to records in Workglue to capture information specific to your business that does not fit in the default fields. When you create a custom field, it appears as a blank text input on every record of that type.
How to access Custom Fields
- In the left navigation, select My Account.
- Select the Custom Fields tab.
- From the Select Category dropdown, choose Custom Fields.
The page displays the Custom Field Definitions section with a table showing all existing custom fields.
Custom Field Definitions table
The table displays two columns:
- Entity Type: The type of record the field appears on. Options are Contact, Customer, Job, or User/Worker.
- Field Name: The label that appears on the record next to the input.
Each row has an edit icon and a delete icon on the right.
How to add a new Custom Field
- Go to the Custom Fields section in Custom Fields and Settings.
- Select Add New Custom Field at the bottom of the table.
- The Add New Custom Field Definition modal opens.
- Select an Entity Type: Contact, Customer, Job, or User/Worker.
- Enter a Field Name.
- Save the new field.
The field immediately appears as a blank text input on all records of the selected entity type.
Entity Types
- Contact: The field appears on all Contact records.
- Customer: The field appears on all Customer Account records.
- Job: The field appears on all Job records.

How to edit a Custom Field
- Find the custom field in the table.
- Select the edit icon on the right side of the row.

- Select the red trash icon on the right side of the row.
- Confirm the deletion.
Deleting a custom field cannot be undone. Any data entered in that field across all records will be lost.
