Clocking In and Out

Learn how to clock in and clock out of Jobs from the Workglue mobile app.

Clocking in and out from the mobile app is how Workglue tracks your hours on each Job. Your clock-in and clock-out times feed timesheets, job costing, and payroll, so accurate clock-ins matter. You clock in on the Job you are working on, and you clock out when your shift ends.

Clocking in

  1. Open the Workglue V2 app.
  2. Select the Job you are working on from your schedule.
  3. Select Clock In at the bottom of the Job Details page.

Workglue records the time and your GPS location when you clock in. The location appears on the office Dashboard, so the office can see where each worker clocked in from.

Once clocked in, the Job Details page shows a live timer at the bottom, displaying the time for this Job's clock-in and your total time for today. The Clock In button changes to Clock Out.

Clocking out

  1. Open the Workglue V2 app.
  2. Open the Job you are clocked in to.
  3. Select Clock Out at the bottom of the screen.
  4. The Anything to add? screen opens.
  5. Fill in any optional fields you want to add (see below).
  6. Select DONE.

Workglue records the clock-out time. Your total hours for the shift are calculated from clock-in to clock-out.

The Anything to add? screen

When you tap Clock Out, the Anything to add? screen opens. Every field on this screen is optional. You can leave everything blank and select DONE to finish clocking out.

The screen includes:

  • Did you take your breaks? A toggle. Checked by default.
  • Were there any accidents? A toggle. Unchecked by default.
  • Comments on your time? A free text field for notes about your shift.
  • Set cost code. A dropdown to assign your hours to a specific cost code.

To cancel and stay clocked in, select Cancel at the top of the screen.

Setting a cost code at clock-out

The Set cost code dropdown lets you assign your hours to a specific cost code on the Job, like Interior Hours, Exterior Hours, or Contract Labor Hours.

  1. Select Cost code.
  2. The list of available cost codes expands.
  3. Select the code that matches the work you did.
  4. Select DONE to finish clocking out.

Setting a cost code at clock-out is how your hours show up on the right line in job costing. If you do not set one, your time is still recorded, but the office may allocate it manually.

Your office admin controls the cost codes available in the dropdown. Only cost codes set as Viewable in Timekeeping appear here.

Adding comments at clock-out

Use the Comments on your time field to add context that the office needs to know about your shift. Things like:

  • A missed clock-in earlier in the day.
  • An adjustment the office needs to make to your hours.
  • Anything unusual about the shift.

Comments are visible to the office on the time entry.

Use the Daily Job Logs to send the office information about work you completed on the Job that day.

Clocking in without being scheduled

If you clock in to a Job you are not scheduled on, Workglue marks the time entry as Unscheduled with a red badge on the Dashboard. The office can see it and reconcile your hours.

To clock in to a Job you are not scheduled on:

  1. Open the Workglue V2 app.
  2. Select Unscheduled Jobs from the home screen (if you have permission).
  3. Find the Job.
  4. Select Clock In.

If you do not have access to Unscheduled Jobs, contact your supervisor or office admin to schedule you before you can clock in.

Forgetting to clock out runs the time entry past your actual end time. If you forget, contact your office admin to correct it. Do not assume the office will catch it.
