Checklist Templates
Learn how to create and manage Checklist Templates in Workglue to standardize tasks for your crew on Jobs.
Checklist Templates are reusable lists of tasks that can be attached to Jobs in Workglue. Once a checklist is attached to a Job, an employee can be assigned to it and items can be completed from the mobile app. Checklists can be attached to Jobs manually or automatically via Automations.
How to access Checklist Templates
- In the left navigation, select My Account.
- Select the Checklist Templates tab.
The page displays all existing checklist templates. Each template shows its title and item count. Select a template header to expand it and view its items.
How to create a new Checklist Template
- Go to the Checklist Templates tab in My Account.
- Select + Add New Checklist in the top right.
- The Add New Checklist modal opens.
- Enter a Title for the checklist.
- Enter a Description (optional, 300 character limit).
- Select Save Checklist.
The new checklist appears on the page with no items. Add items using the Add New Item link at the bottom of the checklist.

Checklist titles cannot be renamed after creation. Choose your title carefully before saving.
How to add items to a Checklist Template
- Find the checklist on the Checklist Templates page.
- Select Add New Item at the bottom of the checklist.
- The item modal opens showing the checklist title.
- Enter a Title for the item.
- Enter a Description (optional, 300 character limit).
- Select Save Item.
Repeat for each item you want to add. Items can be reordered using the drag handle on the left side of each row.
How to edit a checklist item
- Find the item in the checklist.
- Select the item row to open the edit view.
- Update the title or description as needed.
- Save your changes.
How to delete a checklist item
- Find the item in the checklist.
- Select the red trash icon on the right side of the row.
- Confirm the deletion.
How to delete a Checklist Template
- Find the checklist on the Checklist Templates page.
- Select Delete Checklist at the bottom right of the checklist.
- Confirm the deletion.
Deleting a Checklist Template or Checklist Item cannot be undone.
How checklists are attached to Jobs
Checklists are not pre-assigned to employees in the template. Assignment happens at the Job level after the checklist is attached.
There are two ways to attach a checklist to a Job:
- Manually: Go to the Job and attach the checklist from the Checklists section on the Job page.
- Automatically: Use an Automation with the Attach Checklist action to attach a checklist when a specific trigger fires, like a Job Status Change.
Once a checklist is attached to a Job, an employee can be assigned to it. Crew members complete checklist items from the Checklists section in the Workglue mobile app.
